Bourdain believes that people must know their role in the workplace and be humble in order to get promoted in the future.
People with strong egos in the workplace sometimes make it difficult for their fellow co-workers to work with them and in doing so can affect the ability or progress of his or her's work environment. For instance, In "Food is pain", the arrogant bourdain discovers his true self within the kitchen during his audition for the Mario crew and is put in his place.
Solid use, Ras, of each technique. I like how you use "egos" to add some variety when you repeat the subject. Such a small move pays off when you do it over and over with other small writerly moves.
